Lemme tell you a little bit about Al... I was traveling out to California with Mom (aka Paula). She had some kind of drug deal training thingy she had to do in San Diego, but she wanted to stop in Redwood City (that's in California, ya know) and visit Frank and Al. Well, They picked us up at the airport, and mom and I were riding in the back seat of the really cool Mercedes that Frank and Al like to cruise around in. I poked my head out, because I was tired of being stuck in that nasty old plastic bag that mom always makes me travel in. She says something about not wanting me to get all airport smelly, but I think plastic bag smelly is worse than airport smelly. Besides, I been to a lot of airports. Anyway! I poked my head out to say hello... and Frank and Al were so captivated by my Wellington-ness, that as soon as we walked in the door they RAN over to the computer to buy their very own cheap facsimile of me. They got their very own bear, and call him J.R. You can visit him here, but I don't know why you would.

Since I've met Al we've done some pretty cool things... Palo Alto Farmer's Market, the house in Palm Springs, cruisin' in the Mercedes, livin' up the whole California lifestyle. And Al was never shy about snuggling me. He's one of the top five snugglers, by my reckoning.

Being a stuffed bear, I'm pretty much always gonna be around to make people happy, maybe a little matted, maybe a little worn, maybe a little smelly, but I'll still be Wellington. But I guess the same thing doesn't happen to humans. Sometimes humans just wear out.

Al, as many times as I snuggled you, and because my fur holds the smells of all the wonderful people who have snuggled me, you'll always be a part of me, a part of my Wellington-ness. And ya know what else? All the people who snuggle me in the future will be snuggling Al... and right now, my job, the most important job I have, is to share myself with the people you leave behind, so that they know that a little bit of Al continues on.

We miss you Al. We'll always think of you.
