Well Geez! Talk about trying to hog all the attention! Mom was working one day in Colorado Springs, driving around town selling drugs or something like she normally does (Maxscar or Prosalt or something like that), when suddenly out of nowhere a woman driving an SUV pulled out in front of her and BAM, head on collision at 50 miles per hour. But don't worry, Mom had left me in the hotel, so I was safe. I'm startin' to wonder if she might have done it on purpose, maybe she was jealous of all the attention I was getting, and maybe she was just trying to see how many of her friends would call and send flowers and stuff like that. Hey, I can't help it! It's not easy being this cute! I'd gladly give up some of the attention! I was really scared for her, and Steve brought me to the hospital to spend the night with her. Now, I'd been in a hospital before, like the time I went to visit Rudy Tetsuwan's (Mike and Mo's bear) new friend Reagan Mei... you've seen the pictures of her and me when I was bigger than her... she's bigger than me now. Anyway! It was the first time I ever had to stay in the hospital. Mom was pretty scared, and the doctors kept coming in and bugging us... but I was sure a hit with all those pretty nurses. Mom wasn't talking on the phone, or checking her e-mail, or putting on her makeup or in any way distracted, like any other number of things she does to scare me when she's driving, she really was just minding her own business and the woman in the Honda Passport just pulled out in front of her. Without a doubt, the airbags saved her life or saved her from serious injury. We're all pretty lucky, specially me, because I wouldn't be much of a bear without Paula.
